a bit about me
Culinary-trained and forever curious, I’m Billy; a chef by foundation, a field leader by experience, and someone who’s spent nearly three decades in food service. In my work with Prepared Foods at Whole Foods Market, I focus on building strong teams, developing confident leaders, and driving consistent, high-quality operations across busy kitchens. I’m at my best when I’m coaching people forward and helping teams turn challenges into clear, steady progress.
The rescued chef is where the rest of me lives. This is the personal side, the slower side, the side that cooks and grows and pays attention. It’s part kitchen journal, part garden notebook, part photography log, and part trail diary. When I’m not cooking or leading, I’m usually somewhere outside: backpacking, chasing wide-open views, and finding food inspiration in far-off places or small, unexpected meals on the road. I’m drawn to good design in plates, spaces, tools, and ingredients; I’m always looking for the quiet details that make something feel intentional. Here I share simple food, garden-grown flavor, travel eats worth remembering, the photos that catch my eye, and the everyday things that shape my sense of home and aesthetic.
This space is about flavor, curiosity, and the moments worth holding onto.
Welcome to the blend.
