Holiday Dinner – Prime Rib Feast

For this private holiday gathering, I created a classic, comfort-forward dinner anchored by a perfectly cooked prime rib served family-style. The goal was a menu that felt festive and elevated, but still warm, familiar, and built around dishes people genuinely love during the season.

The star of the night was a slow-roasted prime rib, carved and served in its own jus for maximum tenderness and flavor. To round out the table, I prepared a rich and deeply golden potato gratin, buttery green beans with shallot, a crisp winter salad with toasted pecans and house dressing, and a selection of warm rolls for easy plating. All dishes were cooked on-site, finished just before service, and arranged for guests to help themselves; creating a relaxed, abundant holiday spread that brought everyone together around the kitchen.

This event showcased my approach to seasonal cooking: high-quality ingredients, thoughtful execution, and a presentation style that feels both elevated and inviting. A classic holiday menu done with care, served in a way that made the night feel special without losing the comfort people crave this time of year.
